STUDENTS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NEW BUS ROUTE

Courtney Williams had a simple answer when asked why she was waiting for the Dunn County Express bus on a January afternoon near Jarvis Hall.

“Because it’s cold,” said Williams, from Suamico, as light snow flew around her.

Minutes later, the bus pulled up and Williams and her friend, Samantha Hartman, of Eau Claire, hopped on board for a warm ride to Fleming residence hall.

Usually they walk the approximately one mile between Fleming and the main campus, but riding the bus became an option in January when Dunn County Transit began operating regular bus routes for the first time.
The bus runs from about 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and students can ride for free with their UW-Stout ID.
