UW-Stout has begun an advocacy effort to connect its alumni with state legislators and other elected state officials. The aim is to ensure that elected state officials are aware of the value of an education at UW-Stout and what the impact of various funding and other proposals under consideration in Madison could have on the institution.
The program is led by Doug Mell, executive director of communications and external relations, with considerable input from Chancellor Sorensen and David Williams, vice chancellor for advancement and marketing. To date, more than 150 alumni living in Wisconsin have agreed to be advocates for UW-Stout.
A website has been established to track news and developments in Madison, as well as offer contact information for legislators and additional resources. The website can be found at www.uwstout.edu/statebudget/index.cfm.
Alumni who live in Wisconsin are invited to join the advocacy effort by sending an email to communications@uwstout.edu.
