Mount Everest is a draw. So are the ancient temples of Kathmandu. Nepal is becoming a tourist destination, which is fueling an interest in hospitality studies, says Piyush Bhujel (Thapa) of his native country.

An undergraduate student in hotel, restaurant and tourism management, Thapa has written two reference books for the food and beverage service industry in Nepal, and may write more.

Thapa began his studies at the Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management in Kathmandu and now studies at UW-Stout. He discovered that few books specializing in Nepal’s service industry existed. He decided to meet that need and, according to his publisher, the books have been well received in Nepal.
